A text typeface with high readability, economy and character.
Kalmia is a typeface for newspapers designed with a clear tone of voice for high performance in legibility and economy.
Kalmia’s principle is based on the “M-Formula”. The M-Formula is an optical phenomenon discovered by W.A. Dwiggins based on tricking the eye, making it see curves where angular features actually exist.
The most important characteristic is the counter’s inflexion point. This helps to create more whitespace for the counter. Additionally, this feature produces a strong horizontal effect that improves readability.
